Teaching Children And Adults To Skate For Over 60 Years

 

The Burlington Skating Centre, based in Pad 4 at the Appleby Ice Centre, is a not for profit organization founded in 1953. We offer a comprehensive range of Skate Canada programs year round, including Learn to Skate, StarSkate, Competitive Skate, Synchro Skate, Adult Skate and CanPower Skate. Our skating instructors are nationally certified coaches trained specifically in teaching the mechanics and proper technique of skating.

The Skate Canada Learn to Skate programs provide kids with the best foundation for figure skating, hockey, speed skating and ringette. Some of the best skaters in the world learned to skate with CanSkate including Olympic figure skaters, Olympic speed skaters, men’s and women’s Olympic hockey players and NHL players.

For those skaters with a passion for figure skating we offer StarSkate, Competitive Skate and Synchro Skate. STARSkate offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating. Skaters who wish to challenge their figure skating skills and who show potential as competitive skaters can participate in the CompetitiveSkate program. Skaters compete in qualifying events within Skate Canada with opportunities to compete nationally and internationally. Finally, Burlington Skating Centre is home to seven Synchronized Skating teams, from Beginner to Senior Nexxice Team.
